Tuesday, April 3, 2018

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Blackburn.

At around 6.30pm on Monday April 2nd, two men entered a house in Roebuck Close and attacked the occupier with a hammer and an oil filled radiator.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The attackers left the address and walked off along a footpath leading to Galligreaves Way.

One man was described as white, aged 40-45 years old, 5ft 9, thick set with short neat grey hair. He was wearing light blue denim jeans and a light coloured jacket.

The other man was also white, slimmer than the first man, approximately 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing glasses and a hoody style top.

Sgt Mark Holland, of Lancashire Constabulary CID, said: “This was a vicious attack which has left the man with a serious injury to his head.

“Given the weapons used in this incident – a hammer and an oil filled radiator - the victim is fortunate he was not more seriously harmed.

“We would ask anyone who has CCTV in the area or who saw two men leaving the area, who matches the description to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 01282 472525 or 101 quoting ref LC-20180402-1008.
