Detectives are trying to identify a Good Samaritan who tried to help a man who was being robbed.
At 3.30pm on Wednesday March 28, the victim was approached by two men and a woman on secluded steps between Rockcliffe Road and Rochdale Road, Bacup.
He was pushed to the floor where he was kicked and punched by the men while the woman emptied his pockets, taking £20 cash and some tobacco.
One of the male attackers was wearing a light blue bomber jacket and had a bandage on his right hand.
During the robbery, a passer-by tried to intervene, but was also threatened by the group.
Det Con Katrina Scott, of Burnley CID, said: “The victim described a white man with a bald head who tried to help him.
“We would like to speak to this man as he may hold vital information about this incident.
“We would ask him, or any other witness, to come forward to help us with our inquiries.”
