Special constable charged with Misconduct in Public Office and sexual offences.

A special constable has been charged with Misconduct in Public Office and sexual offences.

Jack Baxter, 22, a special constable from Greater Manchester, was arrested in November last year following an investigation by Lancashire Constabulary’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team.

He was based in West Division.

Baxter has been charged with one offence of Misconduct in Public Office and two offences of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act.

The offences relate to allegations that Baxter engaged on-line in sexual activity with a girl he believed to be 13 years old whilst he was on duty. Baxter, who is currently suspended, is due to appear before Preston Magistrate’s Court on September 14th.
