We are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a Spar shop in Walmer Bridge in which two women were threatened with machetes.

At 10.30pm on Sunday November 5, four men, dressed in black clothing, entered the shop in Liverpool Old Road and demanded the women opened the safe.

Two men jumped over the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes before stealing a quantity of cash and stamps from the safe.

Two of the males were carrying machete type weapons and all were wearing black clothing and balaclavas. They spoke with Liverpool accents.
