Man suffers knife wound in Blackpool

We are appealing for information after a man suffered a knife wound to his leg in Blackpool.

The incident happened at around 12.45pm on Sunday, May 14 when the victim, an 29 year old man, was walking along Lytham Road close to the bakery and pram shop near to the junction with Alexandra Road. He was approached by a man and the pair began to fight. The offender then pulled out a folding knife and slashed the victims calf.

The wound required 13 stitches at hospital.

A 22 year old man from Blackpool was arrested on suspicion of wounding and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries. 

DC Katie Brew of Blackpool CID said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and witnessed the incident to contact us.”
