Motorcyclist left with serious injuries after Blackpool collision

We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist collided with a parked car in Blackpool on Saturday (July 15th).

The incident happened at around 10:40pm at the Washington Avenue junction of Salcombe Avenue. A green Kawasaki motorbike has veered across the road, going into the rear of a parked blue Fiat Punto.

The rider, a 44 year old man from the resort, came off the bike suffering fractured elbows and shoulders, broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Officers are investigating how the motorcycle has come to collide with the car and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road Policing Officer, Sgt Adam Dawson, said: “Firstly I wish the motorcyclist a full and speedy recovery in hospital.

“A number of witnesses have already come forward, however, we still need to speak to anyone who may have seen the bike in the lead up to the collision. If you have any information or dash cam footage that could assist our investigation, please get in touch.”
