Appeal for help after death of man in Blackpool

WE are appealing for help following the sudden death of a man in Blackpool.

Police were called at shortly before 2am today (Saturday, August 26th) by the ambulance service who had earlier attended a bench off Gyn Square in the resort. A man had fallen from the bench after becoming unwell. He was taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but sadly later died.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police are trying to trace anyone who knows the man as they are struggling to identify him.

He is described as large build with cropped greying hair and aged between approximately 50-70 years.

A key was recovered from the man’s clothing with the name Gary on the fob.

Detective Inspector Bev Mason, of Blackpool CID, said: “We are trying to establish who this poor man is and I would appeal to anyone who can help us to contact us.â€
