What is a PCSO?

A police community support officer (PCSO) provides a vital link between the community and the police service to make sure everyone has the support they need.

As a PCSO you'll develop your skills in dealing with people and gain job satisfaction from making a difference in your community.

Whether it’s stopping speeding outside schools, reporting vandalism, or reducing antisocial behaviour, your work will make a real difference in keeping Lancashire safe.

Police community support officers don’t have powers to arrest. But, they're armed with excellent communication skills to protect the community in a non-confrontational way.

A number of our PCSOs prefer to work a part-time rota covering evenings and weekends so if that's what you looking for then this is something we can look at for you.
