I first started my apprenticeship in April 2013 within the HR Department working on the Recruitment team. On my first day I expected I would just be doing the filing and the post but I was put to work straight away getting training on the beginning stages of The Special Constable process.
Within my 12 months I gained a lot of experience within Recruitment by being part of different processes, from Special Constables to PC’s to now running the PCSO process myself.
One of the great things about doing my apprenticeship is I also got the chance to gain more qualifications whilst working, alongside my work I studied and worked on completing an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration.
Towards the end of my apprenticeship I had the chance to apply for a HR Assistant Role, when I became a permanent HR Assistant I got given the chance to carry on with my qualifications. So I am now in the process of completing my NVQ level 3 in Business and Administration alongside my day to day job.
Doing my apprenticeship was one of the best choices I made as I feel learnt a lot in the 2 years I have been here and it was a big help in starting off my career.
