How do I reply to messages on In The Know?

At the bottom of each message is a button that allows you to reply to a message, this sends your reply directly to the sender of the message.

You can also rate your message with another button at the bottom of each message, by rating your message this will help us to make sure that the messages are relevant to your needs and provide a better service to you.

If we are appealing for information we may provide an officers name and contact details at the bottom of a message you can contact the officer directly online or if you choose to reply directly to the In The Know message we will ensure that your message is passed onto that officer.

Can I report crime by In The Know?

No, this scheme is not intended to receive information about crimes, you can report crimes online by calling 101. In an emergency always dial 999.

Can I use In The Know in an emergency?

No, in an emergency you should always dial 999. An emergency is when there is a risk of serious injury, there is risk of serious damage to property, you suspect a crime is in progress or there is a serious incident which needs immediate police attendance. For non-urgent matters you can report incidents online or call 101.

Does this replace telephone calls?

No, if you need to speak to Lancashire Police by telephone please contact us on 101. In an emergency always dial 999.
