The latest MAPPA annual report, published in October 2015, sets out the statutory arrangements for managing sexual and violent offenders in Lancashire between 1 April 2014 and March 31 2015.
MAPPA, or multi agency public protection arrangements, is how the police, probation and the prison service protect the public in a coordinated manner. These three agencies work alongside others including social services, youth offending teams, the fire and rescue service and the UK Border Agency.
Today’s bulletin sets out a snapshot of the number of all categories and levels of offender managed under MAPPA, including the number of registered sexual offenders. See the full report
The Special Constabulary Annual Report
Special Constables are unpaid volunteer police officers who work as part of the neighbourhood policing team and give sixteen hours a month of their time. They have the same powers as regular police officers, wear the same uniform and are issued with the same equipment.
