24/7 Air Support is provided to Lancashire Constabulary by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) through a network of rotary and fixed wing aircraft located at bases across the UK.
The focus of NPAS is to deliver a more cost effective service, balancing the need to save money against the need to ensure the police service has a quickly deployable asset.
The helicopter is often involved in searching for people who are missing, vulnerable or at risk. It is able to cover a large area, helping to assist units on the ground.
